Who am I? I am a screwed-up blogger and an active blog reader since 2007. A soulful dreamer who believes that passion is life and a person who is looking for meaning, just like any other human being in this world. A super girl wannabe who is currently taking chances and chasing pavements, while keeping up with time and living life in general. This is me, and this blog is the outlet of my random thoughts. • My visit to Dipolog and Dapitan
    Friday, March 21, 2008 @ 1:38 PM | comment (0)

I was out for two days - yesterday and the day after yesterday to attend my cousin's graduation in Dipolog City. The past two days were tiring, but I sure had a wonderful time enjoying the sights of the pristine beaches and everything. It's a small place actually. Compared to Dumaguete, it has a long way to go yet in terms of development and the like, but the two islands - Dipolog and Dapitan combined, make a hit destination because the simplicity of both cities is definitely worth a visit.

Whether you are a tourist from outside of the country, or from within the Philippines itself, you will find a lot of reasons to visit Dipolog and Dapitan. It jumpstarts visits to other places in Mindanao because they belong to a single island. For first time travellers, going to the place for the first time can bring you to other must-see neighboring cities and towns in the Land of Promise. I've never been to the place in the past. Before the trip, I was curious of what to expect from the place, but when we were leaving, I realized that the whole trip was all worth it.

Dakak is a major tourist destination in Dapitan. I love the beaches! Their charm plus the white sand beaches truly makes Dapitan a hit destination for those who love to go to beaches. Rizal's shrine is also another famous place in Dapitan. There are a lot of things to see in the place. It's also good to see the national hero's former home during his exile in Dapitan. You've got to see the landscape - it's Dr. Rizal to did it himself so it amazed me a lot. Needless to say - he's really a genius.

Gloria de Dapitan is also another point of interest. It is the project of the current president of the country. It's a village that houses a bowling center, an arcade center, souvenir shops, boutiques, parlors, specialty shops, internet cafes, bars, karaoke restos and would you believe it, a cockpit. What I loved was the carousel. It brings a lot of wonderful childhood memories from the past and I had a blast. You should visit the place at night so you could enjoy it better.

So much of my Dapitan and Dipolog adventure. I have to go. Ciao! :8)
