Who am I? I am a screwed-up blogger and an active blog reader since 2007. A soulful dreamer who believes that passion is life and a person who is looking for meaning, just like any other human being in this world. A super girl wannabe who is currently taking chances and chasing pavements, while keeping up with time and living life in general. This is me, and this blog is the outlet of my random thoughts. • What happens when a person dies?
    Sunday, September 23, 2007 @ 4:55 PM | comment (0)

What happens when a person dies?
Hmmh..I wonder.. I am also puzzled like you.. I just thought of it when I remembered an incident that happened almost a week ago. I was on duty in the hospital for my major subject, and then suddenly, (what do you expect?) a person dies..
Sad ain't it? But I couldn't do anything about it.. It was just a painful incident i guess..for student nurses like me who just started to go on duty.. But like what they all say,it's how it is..it's just a matter of getting used to it.
There are four possibilities of ‘what happens’ when you die. They are very different! So it is important that we know which is the right one.
    The four possibilities are:
    1. Nothing happens. You just die and that is the end. (Annihilation)
    2. Not much. You die but someday you ‘come back’ to ‘try for a ‘better end.’ (Reincarnation)
    3. You die and discover that there is a God and after judgement by God, you go to hell for an eternity of indescribable anguish and suffering.
    4. You die and go to heaven where you live forever with God in indescribable joy and happiness.
Do people just die and that is the end? Or do they die and then come back later as another person to live another life or as an insect or another animal to try again? Is there really a heaven and a hell? And, if there is, how does a person get to heaven? Does everyone go there automatically when they die? Do all ‘good’ people go there? Are they going to come back as bugs or animals or as different persons? Were they just annihilated and their existence is over forever? Are they in heaven? Or are they, or some of them, GASP, in hell now? What wlll happen to you? Where will you go when you die?
All these questions and more.. and I guess no one can answer them except maybe those who died and came back to life again (like ressurection or something) but that's quite impossible to happen..neither in my wildest imaginations..
According to http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/YesLord/die.htm, these are statements from teh bible which contain what will happen when a person dies..
...man is destined (appointed) to die once, and after that to face judgment... (Hebrews 9:27)
Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered, so we must die. But God does not take away life; instead, He devises ways so that a banished person may not remain estranged from Him. (2 Samuel 14:14)
For all can see that wise men die; the foolish and the senseless alike perish and leave their wealth to others. (Psalms 49:10)
When calamity comes, the wicked are brought down, but even in death the righteous have a refuge. (Proverbs 14:32)
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars -- their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. (Rev 21:8)
I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes Him Who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. (John 5:24)
In reply Jesus declared, ‘I tell you the truth, unless a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’ (John 3:3)
Everyone who believes in Him (Jesus) may have eternal life. (John 3:15)
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. (John 3:36)
The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. (Galatians 6:8)
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:12)
What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:26)
...The Lord is coming ...to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against Him. (Jude 14-15)
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body. (Php 3:20-21)
He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. (2 Thes 1:8)
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. (2 Cor 5:10)
And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. (Rev. 20:12)
...To the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect. (Heb 12:23)
For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the man He has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising Him from the dead. (Acts 17:31)
This will take place on the day when God will judge men’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares. (Ro 2:16)
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. (Matt. 6:20)
In My Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. (John 14:2)
But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. Look, he said, I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God. (Acts 7:55-56)
Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in haven, not built by human hands. (2 Cor. 5:1)
For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. (Heb 11:10)

Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matt. 5:12)
...will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Matt.8:12)
Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life. (Matt 25:46)
But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, Raca, is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, You fool! Will be in danger of the fire of hell. (Matt. 5:22)
They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Matt. 13:42)
Then He will say to those on His left, Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. (Matt 25:41)

And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. (Mark 9:45)
And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched. (Mark 9:47-48)
The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire. (Luke 16:22-24)
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matt 10:28)

How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? (Heb 10:29)
For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment; ... (2 Peter 2:4)

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. (John 3:36)
God is with us all the time, if it's our time to go..it'll really happen..
Who are we to question him in what he wants for us?
What we could do, is to pray.. and pray for the departed souls so they can find peace and live happily with God for eternity.
