Profile

Who am I? I am a screwed-up blogger and an active blog reader since 2007. A soulful dreamer who believes that passion is life and a person who is looking for meaning, just like any other human being in this world. A super girl wannabe who is currently taking chances and chasing pavements, while keeping up with time and living life in general. This is me, and this blog is the outlet of my random thoughts. The child Jesus' feast day is celebrated today in many different places all over the country. One popular place is Cebu. I'm sure everyone knows about the notable Sinulog Festival which takes place every year. It's a highly anticipated event that many people are looking forward to whether you are a Cebuano or not. Here in Dumaguete, we have a mini-Sinulog celebration which is far from the real Sinulog, but it's not that bad though. Every third Sunday of January every year, our Barangay celebrates our patron saint's feast day - Senior Santo Nino "The Child Jesus".

The barangay officials and other individuals which are in charge of the celebration prepare for a week-long line-up of activities every year before the exact date of the feast day arrives. The residents welcome the celebration every year with enthusiasm, knowing that something new is in store for the patron saint's feast day. They come up with really funny, simple, yet crowd pleasing variety shows for the people to see. It's a small celebration, but the creative and dynamic people behind every idea that was conceptualized for the set of events made wonders for setting new standards that will be quite hard to beat next year. I have witnessed how changes happen after every celebration year by year since I was a kid.

For this year's celebration, I'd say, "Two thumbs up and job well done."
