I may have made mention in my previous posts in this blog that I have been a fan of pop act Super Junior for 5 long years now, since their debut in 2005. In addition to that confession right there, I would like to that although I like all of the members of the group because each of them have their own charms to boot, my bias for the longest time ever, has been Super Junior’s cutie, Lee Donghae. Donghae is one of the group’s best dancers, alongside Shindong, Eunhyuk and Han Geng/Han Kyung. He is also one of the members who sings really well, apart from the spot that the 3 main vocalists Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung (otherwise known as sub-group K.R.Y.) own. He also composes and writes songs for the group. At times, he also choreographs the dance routines together with his fellow members like Shindong and Eunhyuk to be specific. Weeks ago, he composed “A Short Journey” in the recently released “Bonamana” repackaged album with fellow member and close friend Eunhyuk. Days ago, however, the Korean variety show “Strong Heart” (or Kang Shim Jang), hosted by gag man Kang Ho Dong and actor Lee Seung Ki, and co-hosted by 3 Super Junior members Leeteuk, Eunhyuk and Shindong (comprising the Teukiegayo Academy), released an official song logo for the program that was composed by none other than Donghae himself. Additionally, he also appeared in numerous music videos like BoA’s “Key of Heart”, Zhang Li Yin’s “Moving On”, and Ariel Lin’s “Fireflies” together with fellow member Choi Siwon. As a group, Super Junior has a various endorsements under their belt, but he alone has snagged a Happy Bubble shower gel endorsement together fellow member and maknae, Kyuhyun, and a Thai contact lens brand among others.

In a recent episode of the aforementioned variety show, some of the Super Junior members apart from Leeteuk, Eunhyuk and Shindong; like Siwon, Kyuhyun and Donghae were guests for their special summer episode. During the recording of this particular episode, Donghae composed the melody of song on the spot, and wrote the lyrics during breaks. He even made an instant choreography for the song. Finally, towards the end of the program, he and dorky members of the Teukiegayo Academy, showed to the viewers the product of their on the spot masterpiece.

It looks as silly as it is, seeing Shindong and the rest of them in the video, giving an impression to the viewers that they are just playing around, and not really shooting a movie which is supposed to be their purpose in the first place. As a group, whether complete or not, they never fail to make me laugh whenever I see them in variety shows, because they always show their true dorky and funny selves. In this post however, despite the bias that I have for Donghae, I have to say that he is really good to be able to do that. I hope he will continue to show more of his talents and capabilities in the future.
